I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly happening.
